Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about buying leads with Next Call Club.

Q1. How many lead vendors should I use?

There's no single magic number. The right count depends on your volume needs and budget, but relying on just one vendor is a risk in itself. If that vendor's lead quality dips, pricing shifts, or supply dries up, your entire pipeline dips with it. Most agencies get the best results from a small, deliberate mix: two to three vetted vendors running at once, layered with organic or referral sources where possible. This spreads risk, lets you compare cost-per-lead and close rate side by side, and gives you room to drop underperforming sources without leaving a gap. Aim for enough diversity that no single source can make or break your results, not the highest possible vendor count.

Q2. How are leads filtered?

Every lead runs through an automated quality check before it reaches your team, and the whole process takes one to two seconds. First we confirm contactability: a third-party check verifies the name and phone number belong to a real person, and we exclude landlines outright since contact rates on them are too low to be worth the spend. Next, a set of fraud checks run in the background: we screen for data-farm IP addresses, flag forms filled out too fast to be real, scrub against known TCPA litigators, check for recently reassigned phone numbers, and cap how many times a lead has already been passed between sources before it reaches us. Last, we confirm the person gave express written consent to be contacted, and a third party validates that consent certificate. A lead only moves forward once it clears every one of those checks.

Q3. Which CRM should I use?

The right CRM depends on where your biggest gap is. If you need faster follow-up on incoming leads (calls, texts, automated sequences), look for a CRM built around outreach speed and sales automation rather than a heavy back-office platform. If you also need policy, commission, or compliance tracking baked in, an industry-specific platform will save you from stitching multiple tools together. In either case, pick a CRM that integrates cleanly with your lead sources (via API or webhook) so leads land automatically with no manual entry, logs calls and texts in one place, and shows pipeline stage and lead source performance clearly. We're happy to make a specific recommendation once we know your current stack and volume.

Q4. What's the recommended contact strategy?

Speed matters most. Reach out to a new lead as quickly as possible, ideally within the first five minutes, because buying intent drops fast after someone submits a form. From there, don’t give up too early. Call each internet lead 10 to 12 times before marking it as exhausted. Most agencies stop after just two or three attempts, capturing only 20 to 30% of total contacts. Attempts 4 through 7 generate the biggest increase, accounting for another 60 to 70% of contacts, while attempts 8 through 12 reach people who simply weren’t available earlier. Front-load your first few touchpoints on day one, then spread the remaining attempts over the following weeks instead of clustering them together. Support your calls with texts and voicemails to stay top of mind, and avoid calling the same number back to back, since that’s one of the fastest ways to get your number flagged as spam.

Q5. How do we define a "good lead"?

A good lead has to clear three bars. First, it's contactable: real name, real number, and verified consent to reach out. Second, it shows genuine intent. We work only with long-form submissions (40-plus data points, not a quick six-question form), because how much detail someone is willing to give is itself a signal, and we pay attention to whether someone actively searched for a quote versus clicked an ad while scrolling, since that changes how warm the lead really is. Third, it hasn't been sold around: we cap how many times a lead can be passed between sources before it reaches you. A lead that fails any of those checks, wrong contact info, no verifiable consent, or too many hops behind it, isn't worth your team's time no matter how cheap it was. We also don't judge quality by close rate alone. Contact rate and answer-to-quote rate matter just as much, since a good lead can still get marked "bad" if it only gets called once.

Q6. How do we keep our numbers from getting flagged as spam?

Spam flags almost always come from calling behavior, not one single mistake. Carriers watch for high outbound volume (risk climbs sharply past roughly 75 calls per number per day), short call durations, and excessive redials: more than three attempts to the same lead in a day looks like spam behavior even when it's legitimate follow-up. Brand-new numbers also start out at higher risk simply because they have no track record yet. To stay ahead of it, spread outbound volume across a healthy pool of numbers instead of hammering one, cap redials at three per lead per day, space follow-up across multiple days instead of exhausting a lead in the first 24 hours, and keep lead data clean (valid consent, no disconnected or reassigned numbers), since bad data is what drives the complaints that get numbers flagged in the first place. If a number does get flagged, it can usually be fixed through carrier registration and dispute submissions, but it's not instant, which is why we monitor and manage this proactively for clients rather than reacting after answer rates drop.
